Dealings in stocks and shares recorded on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday were as follows, the number of shares in each lot being shown in the case

Woolworths (W.AQ, Ltd. Woolworths (W.A.), Limited, has advised the Stock Exchange Association that a final dividend of 12} per cent., together with a bonus of 2i per cent., on the paid-up ordinary share capital for the year ended January 31, is recommended for payment on April 15, based on shareholdings as at March 31, 1941. Woolworths Properties Woolworths Properties, Limited, has advised the Stock Exchange Association that a dividend of 1/5 a share on the issued ordinary share capital in respect of the year ended January 31, has been declared and paid. It is to be noted that this dividend is on the ordinary capital and not on the preferred ordinary capital. which received its usual half-yearly dividend on January 15. Woolworths (Victoria) Woolworths (Victoria), Ltd., has advised the Stock .Exchange Association that a dividend of 3J per cent, for the half-year ended March 31 has been declared on the 7 per cent, preference share capital, and will be paid on April 15, based on shareholdings as at March 31. General Industries, Ltd. General Industries, Limited, has advised the Stock Exchange Association that the share registers will be closed from March 17 to 31, both dates inclusive. This is in connexion with the payment of the final dividend for the year ended February 28, which, subject to confirmation by shareholders at the annual general meeting, will be paid on March 31, as under: Final dividend on preference shares, 34 per cent, for the half-year, making a total of 7 per cent, for the year; final dividend on ordinary shares, 71 per cent, for the half-year, making a total of 12} per cent, for the year. Felt And Textiles Felt and Textiles of Australia, Ltd.. has advised the Stock Exchange Association that the directors have decided to pay the usual interim dividend on ordinary shares for the half-year ended December 31, at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum, the dividend being payable on April 1. The aggregate turnover of the company and its subsidiaries shows a satisfactory increase and profits have been well maintained. The dividend payable on contributing shares will be computed from November 15, 1940, and will be at the rate of lid. a share. The half-yearly dividend on 6 per cent, first preference shares will also be payable on April 1. 1941.' D. And W. Chandler, Ltd. D. and W. Chandler, Ltd., has advised the Stock Exchange Association that the directors recommend payment of the following dividends :— Ordinary shares, at the rate of 6 per cent, per annum for the twelve months ended January 11; preference shares, final, at the rate of 6 per cent, per annum for the half-year ended January 11. This payment, together'with interim dividend for the halfyear ended July 12, 1940, completes payment of 6 per cent, per annum for the year ended January 11, on preference shares.
