REPLY TO MR. MOODY

Commenting this morning on a report from Auckland of remarks macle by Mr. Alan Moody, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Boat'd, and the decision of the board not to provide a free out-patient service till the Government issued regulations for tlie service, the Minister of Health, Mr. Nortlme.ver, said: -
“While Mr. Moody was sulking in Auckland, the remaining members of the Hospital Boards’ Association executive were meeting me in conference at Wellington. As the result of our discussions arrangeinent.s satisfactory to the Government on the one Side ami the, boa ills on tlie other were entered into. The attitude of the gentlemen on the executive was in striking contrast with that exhibited on this occasion, and on others, by the chairinat) of the Auckland Hospital Board. “The regulations are ready and will
be gazetted shortly. The only change that will now require to be made will be the insertion of a provision requiring the Auckland Hospital Board to refund. to any person whom it has charged for out-patient' service since March 1 the ti,mount so charged.”
