The New Welcome Gold Mining Company Limited reports fbr the month of February:—North Drive: Extended 10 feet from main crosscut. Solid ground reached, showing reef track with 6in. [ of stone lying very flat. South Drive: Extended 12 feet following old worked ground which did hot reach as high as the Level caps. Four feet above old stopes reef made again on a flat bench and was followed for 17 feet from crosscut. Reef varied in width from Gin. to 18in., and shows gold freely. South Rise: A rise has been started on reef, 12 feet from main crosscut, and is now up 12 feet following stone 6in. to 18in. wide. At the present time reef is 18in. wide for the full length of the rise. This stone is of good quality showing small seams and blotches of fine gold.
