Reference to a number of complaints received regarding bookmaking and the raffling of beer in Auckland hotels was made by the chairman, Mr. McKean, S.M., at the quarterly meeting of the Auckland Licensing Committee. He said the attention of licensees would again have to be drawn to the abuses, and they would have to discourage those practices. Five hotels were mentioned in the complaints.
