ESCAPED PRISONERS
Handcuffed In Dock
(By Telegraph—Press Association,> AUCKLAND, March 7.
The two prisoners, Ernest Arthur Tremere Johnstone and Stanley Clive Bernasconi, who jumped from the Limited express near' Taumarunui yesterday morning, appeared handcuffed before the magistrate, Mr. Levien, this morning and pleaded guilty to escaping. Johnstone was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment and Bernasconi to three months.
