SATURDAY'S RED CROSS GARDEN FETE

The committee responsible for the organization of the Red Cross garden fete to Lie held at the Red Cross Home, 80 Hobson Street, tomorrow, reports that final arrangements are complete and given fine weather, the programme of events should afford a pleasurable afternoon. Mrs. P. Fraser will officially open the fete nt 2.30 p.m. ' The Caledonian Pipe Band, with dancers in national costume, will be in attendance, and stalls and sideshows will be held. Afternoon tea will be dispensed by members of the Voluntary Aid Detachment. The proceeds are to be devoted to furthering the general activities of the Wellington city subeentre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, which has a long record of service in the community and today stands ready to meet any emergency.
