SHIPMENT OF PRODUCE

A Statement Explained (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CAMBRIDGE, March 3.

Regarding the reported statement of Mr. Mervyn Wells, director of the Cambridge Dairy Company, that sufficient transport was available to assure the export of the Dominion’s produce for the next 12 months, Mr. Wells said today he wished to make clear that he referred only to the export of cheese and butter and to shipping being in sight to take the bulk of the production for the present dairying season to the end of May.

He thought it necessary to make the point clear to remove any confusion concerning recent statements by the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Barclay, and the Meat Board, kbout shortage of shipping space for meat.
