ESCAPED MONKEYS

Two Still At Liberty

Tlie two monkeys which escaped from the Wellington Zoo .11 clays ago were still al. liberty last evening. Contrary tu reports published elsewhere, no further capture has been effected since that of last Wednesday, stated the Zoo curator, Mr. C. J. Cutler. The recapture of the remaining two, however, now appears imminent. By carefully setting out food, they have been enticed down to an open cage in a nearby garden, and they are now coming and going freely in and out ot the cage. It is only a matter of choosing the judicious moment to release vne door of the cage and trap them. An additional factor in giving them confidence has been the placing at hand as a decoy of a pet monkey which is used to having the freedom of a chain instead of being caged.
