Return To New Zealand

After an extended stay iu Australia, due to his wife having contracted malaria on Emira Island, -Mr, D. McMahon, with Mrs. McMahon and their two children, who were passengers on the Holmwood when she was caught bv German raiders in November on her way back from the Chatham Islands, have returned to New Zealand. Mr. McMahon, who was postmaster at the Chatham Islands, is visiting Wellington on official business before returning to Auckland for a brief holiday. He said yesterday that Mrs. McMahon was making a good recovery from her illness. Neither lie nor the tv children. Tom and Julia, had .suffered any ill effects from their confinement on the raiders or on Emira. Before going to the Chatham Islands Mr. McMahon lived in Wellington, where both lie and Mrs. McMahon are well known.
