ARCHITECT’S SUCCESS
Gold Medal Competition (Fy Telegraph---Tess Association.) AUCKLAND, February 22. The New Zealand Institute of Archiiects’ gold medal competition for IMO. judged by a’ jury appointed by the Royal Institute of British Architects. London, lias been won by Mr. H. L. Massey. Auckland, for his design of the Wellington Centennial Memorial, which marks the site of the first landing of pioneers at Petone and takes rhe form of a hall and bathing sheds. Mr. Massey has been successful in numerous competitions. Ono of his earliets achievements was the winning in 1926 of tire first ‘ Daily Mail” competition in housing t.eld in England after the last war. He is :r former president of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects. and yesterday lie was elected Dominion president tn succession to Mr. .1. M. Dav son. Wellington.
