'J’HE task of creating the many pairs of shoes worn by Joan Bennett ns Grand DueTiess. Zomr in Edward Small's “The Son of Mollie Cristo," the thrilling adventure romance, was extremely dillieull. Patterned after the court shoes worn by royal ladies in the middle nineteenth century. the.' had to be entirely made by hand and required many unusual materials. The same situation pertained to the jewellery worn by the star in the film. This, 100, had to be .specially designed ami executed by hand so that it conformed with the period it represented.
