Sailor Escapes Serious Injury

NEW PLYMOUTH. February 18. A sailor, Mr. I. P. Blunemsen, had a remarkable escape from severe injury when he fell a considerable distance from the yardarm of a ship at New Plymouth today. He narrowly missed striking the ship’s side, which he just grazed, as he crashed downward and fell into the water. A shipmate of Blunemsen. who was working with him on the yardarm, courageously dived overboard from the same height, and was able to support him till further help arrived. Apparently Blunemsen fell on his back and was rendered unconscious by the impact. He was taken to the New Plymouth Hospital, where it «J. stated he had escaped serious injury m his fall.
