Street Procession Details
Details of the forthcoming street proceiijpn were completed at the last meeting of the executive committee of the Victory Queen Carnival. The position of floats in the procession was balloted for and resulted: Public Service, 1; “Movie” Industry. 2; Fighting Services, 3; Hutt Valley. 4; Commerce, 5; Transport, 6. Il was decided that each lloat should head a separate section of the procession. A patriotic tableau, symbolizing victory, was suggested as the climax to the display. An Empire float will probably be provided h.Y the combined queen committees. Numerous bands have promised tiieir services for the procession, including those at Fort Dorset and Trentham and that of the Air Force, The support of the Boys’ Brigade Band is conditional on the Eduwitiou Board granting a school holiday on February 28. SUNDAY CONCERT A patriotic concert in which the full J. C. Williamson Gilbert and Sullivan Comic Opera Company will take pjjrt will bo held in the Opera House, Wellington, on Sunday night.
