Seven Nominations For National Candidate

FEILDING, February IS. After I he ti nnouncement some months ago by Mr. Cobbe, that he did not intend to contest the Manawatu seat again at Hie next general election, the National Party organization in the Manawatu called for nominations for candidates. The list has now closed with seven names—Messrs. Ernest William Barnett, farmer, Haleombe; Noil Campbell, farmer, Awaliuri; Joseph Linklater, farmer, Kairangu; James Nairn, farmer, Feilding; James Leslie Nash, farmer, Linton; Matthew Henry Oram, solicitor, Palmerston North: and Donald Buchanan Rowe, farmer, Rongotea. Those names have been submitted to headquarters of the Now Zealand National Party and formally approved, and the candidates will now appear before a meeting of the selection committee of the Manawatu Electorate to be lii'ld in Feilding on Tuesday.
