MAYORAL APPEAL TO ALL EMPLOYERS In the Wellington Metropolitan Area. rpHE Wellington metropolitan area must raise its £109,000 quota toward the £1,000,090 combined Provincial Patriotic Appeal by the Middle of May. To achieve this objective a monster VICTORY QUEEN CARNIVAL is now netting under way. A network of enthusiastic committees are working at top speed “to ensure that the VICTORY QUEEN CARNIVAL will be the most spectacular and colourful Carnival ever staged in Wellington. The first major joint effort of the six Queens and their attendant Princesses will be the VICTORY QUEEN CARNIVAL MONSTER STREET DAY PARADE AND PAGEANT FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 1941. T APPEAL to all employers in the metropolitan area to assist by granting leave of absence, without deduction of pay, for the necessary time, to employees who are participating in the street Parade and Pageant. I ALSO APPEAL to all employers’ in Wellington City to extend the lunch time of*an other employees on Friday February 28, to two hours—NOON -to 2 p.m. (without deduction of pay)to enable them to join the crowds and see the monster Street Parade aud Pageant as it passes along the route of march through the city streets.
