Training Scheme Shortage OTTAWA. February .13. The Air Minister. Mr. Power, announced a 20,000,000-dollar air programme for home defence involving Hie construction of a chain of aerodromes in British Columbia and Alberta linked with Alaska as protectioii against an invasion through Alaska. This chain would be built as a joint defence project with the United States. Other aerodromes which would be built in eastern Canada would be exclusively Canadian. Mr. Power admitted that, there was a shortage of aircraft for the Empire training scheme which would continue for eight weeks due to delay in deliveries of pianos from the I nited States and Britain. He also said that I Imre was a shortage of training pilots.
