DIVORCE PETITION

Dominion. Special Service. PALMERSTON N., February 1-1. la the .Supreme Court, Palmerston North, a petition for divorce was presented by Mrs. John Dallas Berry, Palmerston North (Mr. G. E. Rowe), who married Zenas Jefferson Berry, engineer, Palmerston North, on February -1, 1931. In February, 1940, she said, she had cause to suspect her husband of infidelity. On March 14, 1940. he left at 10 p.m. for Wellington, and when she asked him if he was taking anyone with him he at first refused to discuss the matter but subsequently admitted that lie was taking a certain woman. On March 25 she learned that respondent had been caught in the aet of adultery near Ohakea. Kenneth McKenzie. Wellington, brother of petitioner, told how he had discovered Berry with the woman mentioned by petitioner in a car on a side road near Ohakea. A decree nisi was granted to be made absolute after three months. A petition for nullity of marriage brought by respondent and heard before the divorce proceedings was dismissed.
