Formed to give married women recreation and to leaeli them to swim, the Splash Swimming Club, Auckland, which is attached to (lie physical welfare and recreation branch ot the Internal Affairs Department, was addressed by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Barry, at the Pepid Laths on Wednesday. The club, inaiigui tried last November. includes grandmothers in its membership of more than 100, and all the members are now able to swim at least the width of the pool. , ~ . Congratulating the members on their enthusiasm, Mr. Parry said be was more than pleased with the piogiess made with the physical fitness movement He also referred to the success of the group travel movement, particularly in the south, and expressed the hope that many more women would join.
