Men On Desert Patrol

An explanation of the casualty list published on Monday reporting that -several members ot the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Middle East had been killed in action and some taken prisoner was given yesterday -by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones.

He said the information he had received about these casualties was that they occurred in the South Libyan desert while on patrol. "All I know so far is that Hiese men were at.taelied to a long-range desert group on patrol in that area," be stated.
