VERDICT OF NOT GUILTY

A jury of 12 in the Supreme Court, Wellington, yesterday found Walter Reppen, toolmaker, aged 53, not guilty of having indecently assaulted his daughter, aged 13. in Wellington on September 1, September 29, and October 27 last. Accused, for whom Mr. F. IV. Ongley, with him Mr. C. 11. ”' : ndt. appeared, pleaded not guilty. Evidence was given as to the good character of accused, who is an exile from Germany. The jury retired at 5.19 p.m., and returned after a retirement of about half ait hour with a verdiet of not guilty on all counts. Mr. C. H. Weston, with him Mr. AV. R. Birks, conducted the ease for the Crown.
