SERIOUS WOUND

Waipukurau Man In Hospital Dominion Special Service. WAIPL’KURAU, February 10. Norman Fearon, night porter at the Tavistock Hotel, aged 32. is in the district hospital as a result of a serious wound in the left arm, received early this morning. It is not yet known how the injury happened. Mr. Fearon sleeps in one of a number of baches for the staff at the back of the hotel, and about I a.in. a kitchen hand, Janies Kennedy, in another bach, was awakened by a banging on his door, which he opened to find Mr. Fearon on the doorstep, weak and bleeding profusely, unable to give a coherent account of what had happened. Dr. C. Raymond arrived promptly, and after giving attention to the wound, admitted Mr. Fearon to hospital, where, though weak from loss of blood, be is reported to be doing as well as can be expected in the circumstances.
