Work For Conscientious Objectors
WASHINGTON, February 7.
President Roosevelt has issued an executive order authorizing I lie Conscription Director, Mr. Dykstra® to prescribe work of national importance for conscientious objectors. The policy, which will soon be applied, will lie under the direction of religious organizations and supervised by the Draft Board.
Objectors will work without wages but religious organizations, which will pay almost the entire cost of operating the camps, will supply them with pocket money. It is estimated that about (1000 objectors have registered.
