Mrs. A. Ben Fuller Elected "Movie Queen"'

A committee representing the various branches of the motion picture business in Wellington has been formed to assist the Victory Queen Carnival for the Wellington Provincial Patriotic appeal. The chairman is Mr. A. Ben. Fuller and the secretary, Mr. R. L. Grant. At a meeting held recently Mrs. A. Ben. Fuller, wife of the chairman, was elected “movie queen.” _ Mrs. Fuller, whose home is in Karori, is the daughter of Mr. D. U. Seaton, the wellknown Australian sportman. and. owner of the Kingsfield stud, New South Wales. Mr. Seaton’s horses have won most of the classic turf races in Australia, including the A.J.C. Derby and Epsom Handicap and the Melbourne Cup with Westcourt in 1917. Mrs. Fuller is a member of the executive council of the AVellington Free Kindergarten Association, and also a member of the Wellington Women’s Club. She has always been an enthusiastic worker in the cause of charity. The election of Mrs. Fuler is singularly appropriate and pleasing to all connected with the "movies,” as her husband’s relatives have been associated with the industry ever since its Inception. Princesses Chosen. Four of the movie princesses in support of the queen were also elected. They are Miss Medel Bayne, representing ‘ Western Electric Corporation, Screen Advertising, Ltd., and other associated interests; Miss Colleen Availing, representing Amalgamated ’Theatres: Miss Patricia Maddock, Film Exchanges; and Miss Lauri Jones, Theatre Management, Ltd. Two other princesses, one for the 33 Club and Junior Film Club and one to represent Wellington and Suburban independent exhibitors are also to be selected, and their names will be announced in a day or two. Plans were set on foot for the immediate regimentation of every branch of the motion picture industry with ail its resources for the support of the movie queen. Valuable gifts for raffling have already been promised by Sir Ernest Davis. Whitcombo and Tombs, Ltd., and Witcombe and Caldwell.
