Frances Banner pleaded not guilty in the Magistrates’ Court today to three charges of misleading officials with the object of obtaining social security benefi ts. Evidence was given that accused received a sickness benefit of £1 a week. When the doctor was too busy to see her to renew the certificates, she signed them.
