piIARLES R. ROGERS, Columbia producer, is to make a romantie comedy miller the title "A Girl’s Best. Friend is Wall Street.” To head the cast, or the picture, his first since establishing himself at Columbia studios, Rogers announced he had engaged Franchot Tone and Joan Bennett. “A Girl’s Best Friend is Wall Street is based on a magazine sfory by Jane Allen and was one of Hollywood’s most-sought-after properties. The story is about a Wall Street telephone operator, Miss Bennett, who plays the financial and matrimonial game backward, but who walks off with a fortune and the street’s most eleg'ible young broker, Franchot Tone. Other Rogers’ productions scheduled for early filming at Columbia are “Amateur Angel” aud ‘’Mermaids on Parade.” “Mermaids on Parade” is to be a Lavish musical.
