American Market For Australian Films
Quarles chauvel, producer of “Forty Thousand Horsemen,” which has been guaranteed screening in America, states that this departure should open up a wider sphere for Australian Film production, and similar negotiations in-the American market may save Australian feature production from extinction. The success of “Forty Thousand Horsemen” in the United States will allow great development and expansion in Australian film production. Before the film left. Australia, he said, it was completed in every respect, including the composition of the musical score by Mr. Lindley Evans. “I think that the rugged picturesqueness of the Australian light, horse is likely to appeal to American audiences, like ‘Bengal Lancers' and similar films. It should provide an excellent propaganda medium at a time when Australia and America are developing a closer relationship of democratic survival, commented Mr. Chauvel.
