Top Wellington & Hawke’s Bay Women To Meet FINALS OF OPEN SINGLES TODAY Dominion Special Service. WANGANUI. January 3. Mrs. R. H. Robb, top Wellington woman tennis player, will meet Mrs. R. H. Milburn, top Hawke’s Baywoman player, in the final of the women's open singles at the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association's patriotic tournament, which will end tomorrow. The final of the men’s open singles wt.i be contested between R. B. Robb (Wellington) and W. J. Webster (Taranaki). Robb and Ogier produced splendid tennis in their semifinal today, but Robb's better positional play and greater experience enabled him to enter the final. In the semifinals of the womens open singles Mrs. Milburn eclipsed Miss T. Greaves (Wanganui), and Miss K. O’Sullivan (Hawera), who won the W’anganui title last year, was outplayed by Mrs. Robb, whose fot;m has been very consistent from the beginning of the tournament. Results of today’s play are:— Men’s Open Singles. Semifinals: R. Robb beat E. Ogier, 6-1, 10-S; W. J. Webster beat J. Foster’ 6-3, 3-6, 10-S. Men’s Open Doubles. Third round: Robb and McCardle beat Tippens and Barkman, 6-2, 6-2; Mailman and Bidwell beat Hay Campbell and Ogier, by default; Lampe and L'dy beat Kidd and Long, 6-2, 7-5. Women’s Open Singles. Semifinals: Mrs. Milburn beat Mrs, Greaves, 6-4, 6-1; Mrs. Robb beat Miss K. O’Sullivan, 6-1, 6-2.
