WEDDINGS

Silver —-Henkel

The wedding took place at the Thorndon Methodist Church, 'Wellington, on Saturday afternoon, of Helga Adela Elisabeth Henkel, Wellington, and Frederick Brailsford Silver, Wellington. The bride is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Henkel, Riga, Latvia, and the bridegroom the only son of Mr. and Airs. F. M. Silver, Wellington. The Rev. F. Parker officiated, and Mrs. Horner played the wedding music. During the signing of the register, Miss Evelyn- Hunter sang “AVhere’ere You Walk.” The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion with blue and white Howers. The bride, who was given away by Mr. S. Eichelbaum, wore a classically simple gown moulded to the figure, with a high neckline and short train. Iler embroidered tulle veil was gathered in

:i high top-knot, ami fell as a second train, and her shower bouquet was of white roses.

The bridesmaids were Miss Margaret Eichelbaum and Miss Areta McNetir. They wore dainty pin-spotted Swiss muslin frocks in cornflower blue with softly puffed sleeves ail'd peter pan collars edged with fine lace. They wore small matching shepherdess caps, and carried blue and white bouquets. The best man was Mr. Norman Smith, and Mr. J. AV. Silver was groomsman. Mr. F. Parker assisted as usher.

The reception was hel'd at the Queen Margaret College, Wellington, where the bride is a teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Eichelbaum were host and hostess, mid received the guests. They were assisted by the bridegroom’s mother. Mrs. Eichelbaum wore a sheer navy coat over a navy and white frock, and a white straw hat. Mrs. Silver wore a black wool sheer ensemble and a black baku straw hat. The guests included Miss I. Wilson, headmistress of the college, and the bride’s fellow teachers. When the bride and bridegroom left on their honeymoon, the bride wore a navy and saxe blue ensemble.

Watts—Little

On Saturday afternoon, a charming wedding took place in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Feildijig, when Grace Murray, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. AV. Little, Feilding, was married to John'Murray, elder son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Ralph AA’atts, Feilding. The Rev. A. L. Dixon officiated. AAfoll-wishers of the bride had decorated the church with howls of hydrangeas in pink and blue, and sweet peas, delphiniums and carnations in the same tunings.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a simple gown of ivory taffeta. The fitting bodice was fashioned with a heart-shaped neckline, mid short full-topped sleeves. A row of satin buttons ornamented the bodice at the back, which ended in a semi-bustle merging into a long full train finished with appliqued satin flowers. Her tulle veil, which had been lent by a friend, was worn over her face as she entered the Church and was held to her head by a spray of lilies. She carried a sheaf of St. Joseph lilies mid maidenhair fern, tied with a taffeta ribbon. The brixlesmaids were Miss Joan McDowall mid Aliss Joan Walls. Wellington, sister of tin- lii'iilegi-oiiin. Ttie.v wore identical frocks of delphinium blue taffeta, of which the chief features were the pointed puritan collars mid full puffed sleeves. The flarc-d skirls were cut to a peak on the bodice mid finished witli bustle bows. They c.-ir-ried posies of pink carnal ions and sweet peas, tied with silver ribbon, mid their short blue tjille veils were held to their heads with topknots of caj-nations. The best man was Corporal J. AV. I‘. AVatts, .Bell Block, New Plymouth, mid Mr. Murray Little was groomsman. .Messrs. Godfrey Gaskill mid John Cole were ushers at the church. A reception was held at the Beresford tearooms, where more than 50

guests were received by Mr. mid .Mrs. Little, assisted by Airs. Watts. The bride's mother wore it floral frock in shades of cyclamen mid green, witli a navy edge-to-edge coat mid navy hat. Mrs. AA’atts was in a .smartly-cut black frock, relieved with white braiding, black coat, mid accessories. The wedding cake had been made by tin; bride's mother and decorated by tin- bride, some of the tokens having been used on her mother's wedding cake.
