Tribute To American Red Cross

NEW YORK, December 7.
The Duke of Windsor, in a radio address, exprescsed gratitude to the “open-hearted” people of the United States Red Cross for all they arc doing for the British people. The Duke spoke extemporaneously from Nassau ou Ripley’s “Believe It or Not” programme over the Columbia system. -He also paid a tribute to the Merchant Marine, particularly to two British sailors who spent 71 days at sea in an open boat after being torpedoed. The .sailors broadcast their experiences. The Duke and Duchess were guests at the studio and the Duke was so deeply moved by the men’s experiences that lie consented to go on the air.
