= r TT'HIS afternoon we walked the = = length of the Lyall Bay beach. = The tide was = far enough out = to enable us to = walk on firm, = wet sand and = then up to the = top of the hill = at Moa Point = and along the = Seatoun hills. = The rising = breeze blew = sand into our = shoes, and the = = sea was grey = = and very cold-looking. = = It was windy up on the hills, = = but down in the gullies among the = = thick lupin bushes it was warm and = = sheltered.
