Fat Sheep Cheaper At Carterton Sale OABITE'RT'ON, October 20. A fairly large yarding was forward at the Carterton stock sale yesterday, and there was a good attendance of buyers. Fat sheep were easier, specially shorn ewes. Fat and forward cattle were in strong demand, and price's were on par with recent sales. Springing cows and heifers were easier, but the quality of the offering was not high. Pigs sold at late rates. Realizations:— Sheen: Fat shorn wethers, 24/-; tat shorn ewes, 14/0 to 18/6; fat woolly ewes, 23/- to 20/0: fat b.f. hoggets, 24/6, 27/-; ewes with b.f. lambs at foot, 19/-. Pigs: Baconers, £3/15/- to £4 /6/-; heavy porkers. £2/15/-: light, 3i/- to £2 5/-- stores, 27/- to 39/-; weaners, small, 17/0; medium, 20/- to 21/-; good, 22/- to "battle: Cows in milk, £lO to £l6/10/-; heifers in milk, £O/10/- to £ll/5/-; heifers just calved. £4 to £9; springing cows, £u 15/-, £O/10/-: springing heifers, £O/10/to £O/5/-; fat cows, £4/10/- to £0; fat P.A. heifers, £9/4/-; fat P.A. cows, £.B 5/-; store cows, £4 to £6/12/-; cows and calves, £4; yearling heifers, £4, £4/17/6; yearling Jersey bulls, £6, £4/5/;; twovear S.H. buH, £7; heavy Holstein bull, £ll/10/-. Complete Flocks Sold At Eketahuna Market DKEITAHUNA, October 26. A good entry’ of sheep, dairy cattle and bulls was forward at the Eketahuna stock sale, and there was a good attendance of buyers. Included in the sheep entry was a complete flock on account of Mr. A. Olsen, and these were keenly competed for. There was also a keen demand for bulls, prices for all animals of good class being very satisfactory. Realizations:— Sheep.—kA/c. A. Olsen: Four-year ewes with b.f. lambs at foot, 20/- to 22/3; fat ewes, 24/6. A/c. other vendors: Ewes with lambs at foot, 21/-; fat hoggets, 26/2; woolly wether hoggets, 23/1. Cattle.—A/c. ,T. L. Hickler; Two-year Jersey bulls, 24Jgns., 24gns. and 21gns.; yearlings, 14gns. and llgns, A/c. C. E. Evans: Yearlings, 15 and Sgns. A/c. F. M. Goggin: Yearlings, 12gns. and lOgns. Dairy cows and heifers, to £lO/5/-. Yarding Well Cleared At Rongotea Sale PAL'MERSTON N„ October 26. A successful sale was held at Rongotea last, week, when a full yarding in all sections came forward and prices were satisfactory to vendors. More than 70 pigs were offered and competition was very keen, a complete clearance being made under the hammer. A small pen of shorn fat hoggets was sold at 22/6. Quite a number of dairy cattle came forward and the majority were sold at prices in keeping with recent rates. Fifteen dairy bulls sold freely, prices being in advance of those of the previous Feilding sale. Approximately 4o fat cows and heifers, ex dairy, were offered and sold, prices being satisfactory. Boner and paddock cows also brought satisfactory prices. Quotations: —
