FIRES LIGHT UP BERLIN SKY

R.A.F. At Work Again GERMAN ACTIVITY SLACKENS Flames lit up a great stretch of sky over Berlin on Thursday night when, for the second night in succession, R.A.F. planes raided the German capital. The Germans admit that British planes flew continuously over the centre of the city. (.in both Wednesday and Thursday nights targets spread over a wide area were attacked by the R.A.F. and, in addition, Coastal Command planes took toll of German shipping. German attack's on Britain remain less intensive than previously. Thursday saw but slight activity, there being mention of only one formation of any size crossing the coast in daylight: and no mention at all of attacks on London in Friday morning's communique, though an agency report says one dive-bombing attack was made at dawn. Air-raid casualties in Britain are believed to have reached their lowest level since the blitzkrieg began.
