Cox Plate caused surprise, but his trainer says the horse is all right. His absence is due to the fact that his connexions have formed an opinion that he may not be suited by the track. There is soiiie talk that Ajax will also be missing from the race, a decision to be made following consultation between the owners.

TRAINS TO TRENTHAM
Catering for patrons of today’s racing on Trentham racecourse, the New Zen.land Railways Department has made special arrangements for transport to and from the course. Young Colt Lost. Mr. H. L. Nathan has bad the bad luck to lose his two-year-old colt by Nightmarch from Baj’ Queen. The youngster had been given plenty of time and was showing great promise. He was bred by Mr. A.
