Furred Skin Sales The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agcncv Company, Limited, held the third rabbit skin sale of the season yesterday. Competition was satisfactory and prices fully firm on the September sale. First buck realized 9tkl. a lb.; spotted bucks. 7<).1d.: winter bucks, Sid.; winter does, 76V1.; spotted does. 4Sd-; outgoing does, 49d.; outgoing bucks, 60t1.; early winter, "SJd. The following is the range »f prices:—Milky, to 24d.: autumns, to 34:1(1.: incoming, to old.; E.S. & 8.5., ."(Rd. to 25<1.; broken. 46d. to 22(1.; outgoing bucks and docs. At tiic first opossum skin sale of lhe season a large cafalogue of trappers' lots was offered. Taking into consideration the present unfavourable conditions of the market because of the war, prices were satisfactory, a good line bringing up to 3/8.

Gold Mining Returns Mossy Greek dredge reports a return I.f 34 ounces 2<hvts. from 8280 cubic yards worked in 105 hours. The Barrytown group of gold dredges (West Coast) report an aggregate recovery of 2315 ounces for September, as follows. —K.imeri: 982 ounces from 2-18,000 yards in 402 hours. Arahuraj 822 ounces from 314,000 yards in t'3s hours. Barry town: 511 ounces from .170.000 yards in 436 hours. The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Martha Gold Mining Company (Wnihi) Limited: For rhe period ended September _2l, Hi. 231 tons id' ore were crushed for 3533 ounces of gold and 27,147 ounces of silver. The crushing time was 20 days.
