OFFICER RETIRES
Radio Construction Work
Mr. George Stunt, who has been associated with aerial construction work, the erection of towers for radio stations throughout the Dominion and Pacific Islands, and also the laying and repair of submarine cables for the last 25 years, was recently presented with an illuminated address from his fellow officers in the radio division of the Post and Telegraph Department, on the occasion of his retirement.
Among the last of Mr. Stunt’s big jobs was the dismantling of the 160-foot tower which he erected many years ago on Tinakori Hills.
The director of the radio division of the department, Mr. L. H. Steele, the radio engineer, Mr. T. R. Clarkson, the superintendent of Wellington radio, Mr. J. Hampton, and several other officers, spoke of the valued service Mr. Stunt had given, and more fitting reference to his knowledge, ability and good fellowship. He was assured of the best wishes of his fellow officers. Mr. Stunt-is to reside at Featherston.
