Northern Jersey Bull Sales
Reporting on the To Awamutu Jersey Club’s annual bull fair, the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company states that though the sale opened slowly, buyers soon warmed up and a good demand was experienced right up to the end of the catalogue. Seventy-three bulls were disposed of at an average of 26£gns., the top 40 returning 30gns.— a< tribute to the evenness of the offering. Fifty-two guineas was the highest price of the day. Up to 60gns. was realized at the Morrinsville Jersey Club’s .annual bull sale, conducted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and the average over the whole catalogue was 2Sgns., a figure considered most satisfactory by the vendors. There was a big attendance, and bidding was kegn from the start, the big sale at Hamilton a few days previously apparently having little effect on the demand. In all, 49 head were sold under the hammer.
