KNIFE INJURIES IN FIERCE BRAWL
Man Killed In Sydney

A fierce brawl which ended in the death of one man and serious injury to two others occurred tonight in the underworld area of Darlinghurst. The fight occurred iu a wine saloon when one man called another a “Hutt” and the combatants continued to fight outside on the pavement. Someone drew either a dagger or a sheaf knife and inflicted terrible injuries on the throat of Allan Ferguson, -aged 3G, a mechanic, who died almost immediately. His companion, Leo Costello, aged 40, a salesman, was severely gashed in the mouth, on the side of tlie head, and parts of his body. His condition is critical. The third man, William Irwin, aged 30, received extensive cuts on the face and his coat was ripped to ribbons. The police later detained a man. Hundreds of people witnessed the affair.
