TONIGHT’S WRESTLING

In the Wellington Town Hall tonight John Katan, Alberta, will defend his British Empire wrestling title against Earl McCready, and interest in the clash is so great that it is expected all attendance records for the season will be eclipsed. There have been ! suggestions that McCready was being elbowed out of a chance to regain the title, which he was at such pains to hold "during the past seven years, and now that his chance has come he can be depended on to make the most of it. McCready is usually seem in the role of defending champion, and his appearance tonight with the winning of a coveted title to reward h’is efforts, should they be successful, provides the opportunity of seeing him in a new and interesting light. Only those who remember that McCready travelled all over the Empire in order to remove any doubts of his right to hold the title can understand what it means to him, and how strenuously he will strive to get it back again. . His job will not be easy, however, as Katap is certainly one of the most formidable wrestlers ever to appear ih this country, and is determined to hold what he has. Amateur contests are scheduled to start at 8 o’clock, and will be followed by a five-round “semi-profes-sional- ’ bout.
