BOYS’ DEPARTMENT
Wellington Y.M.C.A. The monthly meeting of the Wellington Y.M.C.A. boys’ department committee was held on Monday night, Mr. J. S. Reid presiding. The report presented by the boys’ work director, Mr. G. R. Pitkethley, showed an increase of 30 members for the month of August, bringing the total membership to 514, which includes 248 in the nine suburban groups. The school holiday programme was an outstanding success, 235 individuals participating, and the aggregate attendance hein" 1016. This comprsed 20 visits to factories, four all-day outings, three picture afternoons, four afternoons in the gymnasium, and two competitions with the Hutt Valley Y.M.C.A. It was decided to bold the nnnufii Mother and Son social evening on Friday, September 27. Mention was made of the forthcoming boys camp. It was decided to hold this ns ufmal Al groups have been participating in the club programme which covers competitive games, concerts, entertainment nights, crosscountry runs, pack runs and indoor athletic competitions.
