Vice-Regal. Their Excellencies Lord and Lady Galway, attended by Lord Donner, A.D.C-., were present at divine service at SI. Paul's Pro-Cathedral yesterday morning. Commander A. B. Fanshaw, A.D.C., R.N., has been gazetted acting-captain. Mr. G. W. Armitage, Temuka, has been re-elected chairman of tlie Canterbury Education Board. Lieutenant P. B. Levy, 6th Field Regimi'til. New Zealand Artillery, lias been promoted to the rank of captain. Captain W. Pollard has been appointed to the rank of temporary major in the Royal New Zealand Artillery. Lieutenant J. D. G. Ward has been appointed assistant-transport shipping officer, Christchurch. Lieutenant A. R. Currie, N.Z.S.C., has been promoted to the rank of captain in the New Zealand Regular Force. Dr. 'l'. G. Gray. Director-General of Mental Hospitals, arrived in Christchurch from ’Wellington on Saturday. Lieutenant (temporary Captain) D. C. Crozier bits relinquished the appointment of Mechanical Transport Officer, Burnham Military Camp, according to a Gazette notice, and lias been appointed District Mechanical Transport Technical Officer, Southern Military District, Christchurch.
