A weak disturbance is crossing the South Island and a deep depression is moving on to Tasmania troui the Foremist —Winds: Light ami variable at first in the far north, but otherwise gradually freshening northerlies to norih-westerlies, later reaching gale fnroo in exposed positions about and south of took Strait. Seas (New Zealand Waters).— Rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits and south of Westport, elsewhere slight or moderate but rising south of Cape Weather — For the most part fair to fine but with increasing cloud and rain * developing in western and far southern areas of Hie South Island Some light frosts in the south but temperatures becoming rather milder.
