Senior B Division Trials (By Critic.) The standard of hockey dieplnyed In -the ■senior B division this term did not reach that of -past seasons because of lack of necessary, training and coaching. The trial games on Saturday did not help in any degree -to reveal talent of any exceptional merit. Though the aspirants to representative honours were noticed to be doing their best, with the exception of a -few cases, they did not help to ease the selector’s task. The goalkeeping position fell to Miss Anderson, who hits been playing fairly well this season, but on 'trial game play I'he Training College custodian might be classed as unlucky not to win the position. The backs. Misses Rutherford and Stroud, arc a sound pair. Miss Stroud s work on Saturday was far superior to that of the other fnil-backs seen in action. The half line. Misses Cummings, Clements and Mrs. Adams, though not as sound as one would like Io see holding such II responsible department In (lie team, could hardly have been improved upon from the material available. The vanguard, Misses Auckram. Tidswcdl. Young. Scott and Holden, seemed to perforin fairly well in the Possibles v. Probables match, but anticipation, positional play and snapp:noss in the circle would be an improvement iu die offensives. Junior CluimploiiHliip. As a result of Technical Old Girls' win over Technical College A 'by 2 goals to nil. this team is now level at ’the top oi: the junior championship ladder with HuttI’nited. The competition is now closed, and Hutt. United and Technical Old Girls have been declared joint holders of the championship for the season.
