I The Auckland repiTwulative Rugby team maintained its unbeaten record for the season when it defeated Tarauaki at I Edell Park on Saturday by 24 points to , 12. 'Taranaki led at the interval, 6-3, these points consisting of two penalty i goals to one. Auckland gained lhe ascendancy in the second spell, scoring five tries, three converted, to Taranaki's try and a penalty goal. Playing with the advantage of the wind and sun. Taranaki had much the better of the first spell. This was keenly contested between the two packs of forwards, there being little back play of any consequence. After the interval. I however, the game was more open and - spectacular back movements followed in s rapid succession, much to the delight of , the crowd. Tries for Auckland were s scored by Molloy 12). Barry (.2) and Johnson. Hare converted three fries and s kicked n penalty goal. Richards scored . for Taranaki and Johns kicked three pen- - ally goals
