Airman Sinks Submarine
(From “The Dominion,’’ August 28, 1915.)
A remarkable feat bv a British airman is reverted today—that of sinking a German submarine near Gstend by the dropping of 'bombs. This is the first occasion on which such a feat has been officially recorded since the war began, and that Squadron Commander Bigworth performed it in the immediate vicinity of a hostile coast, almost entitled him to as distinguished a place in the ranks of airmen as was won by the late Lieutenant Warneford, who fought aud destroyed a Zeppelin single-handed.
American Treasury officials regard the reports of Germany’s grave financial condition as inspired, with the view, to attracting world-wide comment, which is useful to Germany.
