PARAMOUNT THEATRE
The Paramount Theatre's surprise preview opened last night with two feature-length films that were ’both surprising and good. Starting, with some Buster Keaton hilarity, the programme shifts into swift, action with an unusual gangster film in -which Lloyd Nolan has the lead. . The main feature-length show is n complete novelty, a new sort of comedy film of Hollywood poking fun at itself, and specially, at a great personage notable for his free and easy use of the American language. , . A new star, Judy Canova, plays a burlesque hill-billv part in lhe oilier featurelength film, which starts with a hearty laugh and does not let up for a moment till the very end.
