The new racing season in Auckland will be opened with the Bakurangtl limit meeting at Ellerslie tomorrow, ami the good fields .should ensure excellent contests. The weather hits been a little threatening, but unless there is rain, the track should be not worse than slightly holding. It is practically certain that the Sylvia Park Handicap will have to be run in two divisions, upon which the betting will close before the running of the first, because of the largo number of acceptors. The betting will be under the win and place system. Horses likely to be well supported include: —■ Greenmount Steeplechase. — Etcetera, Leighton Buzzard, Beverley.
