Typhoon In Philippines

(Received August 22. 7.5 p.m.) MANILA, August 22.

Eight are reported dead in North Luzon as a result of a typhoon on Monday. A Japanese vessel, the Nanyu Marti, witli 15 passengers aboard, sank while proceeding to Formosa. All were saved. Communication is still severed with Cagayan, where it is believed the casualties were heavy.
