Fair And Mild Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. today: General Sit nation.—There has been little change in the situation. A belt of high pressure extends front Australia over the North Island and weak it csterly depressions are passing in the south. Forecast. —Winds: South-westerly to westerly prevailing: mainly moderate to fresh in force, but strong in exposed positions. Seas (New Zealand Waters).-Rather rough to rough north of Farewell Spit and south of Nugget Point, slight to moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea.—Moderate to fresh south-westerly winds and modeiate seas in the northern portion, strong winds from a westerly quarter and Weather—For 8 the lost occasional rain, however, in western and far sou hern areas of the South Island and a few passing showers in Taranaki and over the Auckland Peninsula. Temperatures cool to moderate. WFItIINGTON DISTRICT FORECAST UP TO 6 P.M.
