Kay Francis And Walter Pidgeon In A Western
r rHl3 screen-romancing of Kay Francis and Walter Pidgeon in “It’s a Date” will be continued in Universal's Western, “When the Daltons Ilode.” It will he conducted, of course, with a different technique, appropriate to the period. Miss Francis was engaged for the dramatic feminine load opposite Pidgeon, who will enact the role of a young country lawyer. It will be Miss Francis’s first 'Western, and a distinct departure from any of her previous portrayals. Brian Donlevy, Robert Stack and Broderick Crawford will play three of the four notorious Dalton brothers who figure in the story. Another member of "the gang,” but not a Dalton, will be Andy lievine, in a comedy characterization. The fourth “Dalton brother” will be announced later. George Marshall, who directed Universal’s spectacular “Destry Rides Again,” wdll also direct “When the Daltons Rode."
•TONY MARTIN, star of screen, stage and radio, who has a stellar singing role in Columbia’s “Music in My Heart," has never taken a vocal lesson.
