Aero King Looks Well

Dominion Special Service. ) AUCKLAND, August 22. Some interesting work was performed at Ellerslie today, in view of the Pakuranga Hunt meeting on Saturday. The No. 1. grass was available for galloping, and among the horses to go well were Llandaff, Royal Message, Calttla Boy, and Golden Pay. The going was holding, and was probably slower toward the end of the morning than earlier. On the Grass. Tybalt covered .seven furlongs in 1.37 3-5, the first three in 40. • Golden Pay easily beat Purple Vermeer over three furlongs in 38 4-5. Golden Pay is a two-year-old colt by Autopay from New Star, and is being trained by F. Gilchrist. He is forward, and is a very resolute mover. Aero King strode over three furlongs iu -11. He is carrying a very bright appearance, having freshened up nicely since running disappointingly at TrentIm m. British Mint, Beaucoup, and Arehaloon were in the order named after running four furlongs in 53. British Mint is improving, and the next couple of months may do a lot for him. Rex Maitland and Sir Cameron were in front of Brazilian after completing five furlongs- in 1.9 3-5, the first two in 29 3-5. Rex Maitland has not raced for a year, but has been working in good style and should riot be without prospects among the hack sprinters on Saturday. Sir Cameron has also been working satisfactorily, and looks like being a good three-year-old. Best Four Furlongs. Calula Boy just shaded Money Spinner over four furlongs in 52, the best of the morning. Both are speedy, and have been working nicely lately. Kelly, Bronze Fire and Rival were almost on terms after running six furlongs in 1.22, the first three in 41. tn appearance Bronze Fire is much improved, and. he has been doing his work in very solid fashion. Elise comfortably beat Mimax over five furlongs in 1.9 3-5 J drawing away at the end. Veyanna, Miss Bridge and Little NVillonyx covered five furlongs in 1.10 2-5. Knight of Australia ran seven furlongs in 1.28 3-5, the last four in 55 3-5. He was associated over the last two with Our Gold, a two-year-old by Captain Bunshy from Gold Money. Bronze Emerald shaded Miss Valerie at the end of six furlongs in 1.23. The first three were run in 40 1-5, and Bronze Emerald did his work nicely. Valspear run a mile in 1.58 3-5, the last three furlongs in 43 3-5. Rara Avis sprinted four furlongs in 52 2-5, having to be kept up to his work. Acre’s Beauty and .Ringshot ran five furlongs in 1.9 2-5, the first two in 27 2-5. Balashiel and Ballivor covered three furlongs iu 41 1-5. Goldrace beat Dublin Show over half a mile in 55 2-5, going strongly at the end and running the last three in 42. Llandaff moved pleasingly over four furlongs in- 5.1 1-5, running the first in 12 1-5 and the last three in 39.- He looks very bright. Biddy Comet and Boomps-a-Daisy placed four furlongs behind in 52 1-5. Odtaa finished strongly to defeat White Mark over five furlongs in 1.8 3-5. He ran the last three in 39 2-5. Lovelilt and Mahala led Pyrenees and Searcher over a round of the steeplechase course. Lovelilt went very pleasingly. and Mahala also did well. Pyrenees jumped cleanly throughout and appears to have improved in condition since he last raced. Searcher fenced very carefully and lacks confidence.
